Cairo - 31th October 2023 : Emirates NBD Egypt made significant efforts in the field of social responsibility during the month of October, where the bank's employees visited Baheya Hospital warriors on the occasion of "Pink October" and co-sponsored the "Our Heritage" handicrafts exhibition held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The visit of the bank's employees to Baheya Hospital warriors in Haram is part of the mutual volunteering program, during which they presented 220 gifts to 200 female warriors, and these gifts were selected from the products manufactured by women in "Ezbet Khairallah" as part of the bank's Taproot project in cooperation with Button Up.

As part of the bank's CSR strategy to achieve sustainability goals by encouraging handicraftsmen and small businesses and empowering women, Emirates NBD co-sponsored the annual 'Turathuna' exhibition, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to support local handicrafts.

Amgad Doma, Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer at Emirates NBD stated: "Our efforts in the field of social responsibility aim to support and empower women, as well as supporting owners of small and medium enterprises to provide job opportunities, in addition to implementing the sustainable development goals in accordance with the bank's strategy and the directions of the Egyptian state."

The Taproot project aims to develop the capabilities of women in Ezbet Khairallah and train them in sewing and embroidery skills, and the project has already succeeded in achieving its goals by enabling more than 100 women to join the Egyptian labor market and manage their own projects efficiently and achieve high profitability rates.

Baheya Foundation is also the largest in Egypt in the field of early detection and treatment of breast cancer, as the Foundation is distinguished by providing its services free of charge to women throughout the Republic.

Emirates NBD-Egypt is always keen to support the community at various levels by empowering women, small and medium enterprises owners, as well as craftsmen.
