Pioneering strategy of Emirates NBD-Egypt for attracting youth, engaging them in the Innovative Banking System

Cairo, December 13th, 2016 - Emirates NBD Egypt announced the three top winners of 'Future Intelligence Program' competition launched by the bank early October 2016. Students of three universities; the American University in Cairo (AUC), German University in Cairo (GUC) and Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport have participated in the competition. The participants presented their innovative ideas for developing the banking sector and exploring new financial solutions.

Emirates NBD Egypt awards cash prizes for the winners: EGP 30,000 and a fully covered one-month internship in Emirates NBD Group in Dubai for all team members. EGP 25,000 for the second and EGP 20,000 for the third in a bid to encourage university students to innovate and express their thoughts and creative suggestions.

Frederic De Melker – Head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management said: "We are pleased with the large turnout on the program and the participation of Egyptian university students with 15 innovative ideas, showing that there are lots of creative Egyptian youth. We hope that Future Intelligence Program will help stimulate Egyptian students' creativity in a bid to effectively contribute to achieving development and upgrading their society."

Future Intelligence Program comes in line with Emirates NBD Egypt's great attention paid to youth. The bank has launched a new package for youth aged 18-26 years with no legal approval required, proving that the bank is always keen to prop up youth and support them.

Youth package includes many banking products such as: - Titanium MasterCard that provides them with many features comprising entering airports' lounges in Egypt and Middle East for free along with reward points while using the card in purchases, besides lots of discounts and offers. The card also offers for them distinctive interest rates on saving scheme and deposits to help them financially stabilize.

"Although the young people represent a large segment in Egypt, it has been neglected by the banking sector. We, at Emirates NBD Egypt, seek to attract this segment through our long-term vision and build a bridge of trust stimulating it to involve in the banking system and become the future customers,"Fuad Mohamed, Chief Operation Officer said.

"Simplifying the banking is our aim, our vision is to keep the bank between the client's hands. Digitizing current features will improve the speed and the efficiency of banking services," said Ali Sejwani, Group Chief Information Officer at Emirates NBD.
