Cairo, Egypt, 6 April 2026As part of its integrated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, Emirates NBD Egypt intensified its volunteer initiatives and community programs during the holy month of Ramadan 2026, reaffirming its leading role in supporting social development through strategic partnerships aimed at creating a tangible and sustainable positive impact.

The bank’s Ramadan initiatives witnessed broad participation from its employees in a series of field activities conducted in collaboration with the Egyptian Food Bank, Al-Manfaz Foundation, and Sonaa Al Khair Foundation. These efforts included three major events dedicated to preparing and packing food boxes. The first event took place in February at the Egyptian Food Bank’s headquarters, followed by additional activities throughout February and March at Al-Manfaz Tent in New Cairo, where volunteers contributed to preparing hundreds of food boxes to ensure that support reached families in need across various communities before and throughout the holy month.

As part of its commitment to maintaining a strong community presence, the bank also organized a comprehensive Ramadan meal initiative in cooperation with the Egyptian Food Bank, serving Iftar and Suhoor meals throughout Ramadan. This initiative reflects Emirates NBD Egypt’s commitment to active community engagement during the holy month and to promoting a culture of volunteerism among its employees.

Commenting on the initiative, Amr ElShafei, CEO and Managing Director of Emirates NBD Egypt, said:

"Our Ramadan initiatives this year are an extension of the deeply rooted culture of volunteerism embraced by our employees and our strong belief in our responsibility toward Egyptian society. Since the beginning of our presence in the Egyptian market more than 13 years ago, we have sought to play an active role in promoting the values of solidarity and social cohesion, in line with the bank’s long-term strategy that places social development and sustainable humanitarian work among its top priorities."

Dr. Amgad Douma, Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer at Emirates NBD Egypt, added:

"We are committed to playing an active role in supporting communities and advancing sustainable development through our CSR initiatives implemented throughout the year. Ramadan presents a valuable opportunity to further strengthen these efforts, as we intensify initiatives aimed at supporting the most vulnerable segments of society. We also remain committed to supporting Egypt's Vision 2030 and aligning our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals."

It is worth noting that the bank’s recent community efforts have included numerous volunteer activities supporting hospitals and local communities, as well as humanitarian initiatives such as purchasing and distributing clothing during Eid Al-Fitr, supporting orphanages, and organizing blood donation campaigns. Emirates NBD Egypt continues to expand its CSR efforts through initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, child welfare, and the inclusion and empowerment of people with disabilities.
