The National Initiative to Support Outstanding Students in Egyptian Universities – “Future Scholars Grant”

A step toward promoting equal opportunities for high-achieving students.

Based on the principle of equal educational opportunities, the Central Bank of Egypt, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, launched the national initiative to support outstanding students in Egyptian universities, “Future Scholars Grant.” The initiative aims to provide equal access to university education in priority fields and to support high-achieving students in completing their higher education within a framework of fairness and equal opportunity.

The scholarship offers comprehensive support covering tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses throughout the study period (subject to maintaining eligibility requirements). This enables students to benefit from a stable educational environment that helps them focus on academic achievement and build a successful professional future, free from financial burdens that may hinder their academic path.

The scholarship targets high-achieving Egyptian students who graduated from public high schools or STEM public schools in the same academic year, with a focus on the most underprivileged groups across the country. This includes beneficiaries of Takaful and Karama program, students exempt from tuition fees, students with disabilities, and those from Upper Egypt and border governorates—reflecting the initiative’s commitment to educational equity and reducing developmental gaps between regions.

The scholarship is based on clear criteria to ensure transparency and fairness in selecting beneficiaries. Applicants must be Egyptian nationals, graduates of public schools, and demonstrate academic excellence qualifying them for the eligible faculties. They must also maintain good conduct, have no prior disciplinary actions or academic dismissals, and must not be receiving another scholarship simultaneously. Required documents must be submitted, and official declarations signed, noting that any inaccurate information may result in scholarship cancellation.

The scholarship covers key fields aligned with national priorities, including computer science and artificial intelligence, engineering, medicine, applied arts, veterinary medicine, nursing, tourism and hospitality, archaeology, agriculture, arts and design. This ensures alignment between educational outcomes, labor market needs, and national development plans. In some cases, shortlisted candidates may undergo personal or online interviews to ensure selection of the most deserving applicants.

The first cycle of the initiative was launched through online applications via the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research platform from September 9 to 14, 2025. The list of shortlisted candidates was announced on September 18. Continuation of the scholarship is contingent upon maintaining academic excellence and adherence to the study program to ensure sustained support and achievement of the initiative’s objectives.

The official website has been launched:

It aims to promote community funding for the scholarship by outlining available donation methods, including contributions from inside and outside Egypt via the unified bank account (7070) across all Egyptian banks, or through the InstaPay application under the name “7070 "منحـــــة علـــــــماء الــــــمستقبل (Future Scholars Fund 7070). Applications for the second cycle will also be opened through the same website.

The “Future Scholars Grant” represents a unique opportunity for outstanding students, transforming their academic achievements into a real chance to reshape their lives and support their families. It empowers them to actively contribute to the country’s social and economic development, reinforcing that academic excellence should not be limited by financial means but translated into fair and sustainable opportunities for the future.
